This Friday, July 4, we bring you Juliette Binoche in a heartwarming remake of a cinematic classic, THE FLIGHT OF THE RED BALLOON.

Inspired by Albert Lamorisse's 1956 Academy Award winner, THE RED BALLOON, this charming and beautiful new tale centers on the mysteries of familial bonds and the lingering effects the past has on us all. A precious young boy must deal with the increasing fragility of his mother (Binoche). Completely immersed in her own tribulations, she hires a Taiwanese film student to help care for her son. Together a unique extended family is formed, utterly interdependent yet lost in separate thoughts and dreams mirrored by a delicate, shiny red balloon.

When continue with the very well-received, romantic thriller, ROMAN DE GARE and the epic Best Foreign Film Oscar nominee, MONGOL.

Our Classic Film Musical Series continues with the exuberant and grand OLIVER! - Oscar winner for Best Picture in 1968. Shown in 35mm glory on Tuesday, July 8 at 7:00pm. Tickets are just $3.00. Free for UMKC students and staff with ID. Available at the box office, day of show only.
